Treasure Finds 27.02.12

Valentine's day is fast approaching! Wow! February is my favorite month.

Just because:

• It's Valentine's day on the14th
• My birthday on the 13th
• It's Mother's day in Norway on the 12th

I guess these says it all. :)

Eco-friendly Paper Dress Form/ Mannequin

I always opt to do things the way I want it to be. I want to do it my style. I love to see other tutu makers displaying their tutus on a dress form/ mannequin. It's way too expensive to buy one myself though. Here in Norway, it will cost me over a thousand kroner a piece (approx. USD250). Fortunately, I came across this site. Check that out for detailed info.
Here's a glimpse of my version:

Materials used:

•  paper tape
•  fabric scraps for filling (mostly tulle)
• paper pieces from junk mails as "papier-mâché"
•  flour+water as paste (glue)

It cost me barely nothing as I got all the materials I needed from my stash and our kitchen. I imagine making a lot of tutus using this form.

A brand new year and a bunch of new ideas and inspirations. Here's what I have come up with so far:

Bid adieu to 2011 and welcome 2012!

Last year was amazing! Looking back it seems I have done something that I never thought I woud be able to achieve. I was hesitant at first when I started with LilleJen™. It takes a lot of courage to do so, spent most late nights finishing up orders, creating new designs, reading articles, planning, the list go on not until my daughter wakes up and that reckon me to retire to bed.
